Forestry & Soil Resources Division Intern

About: The DOAG Forestry & Soil Resources Division's (FSRD) mission is to conserve, protect and enhance Guam's vegetative environment and sustain the natural resources which are dependent on healthy forests. We do this by hosting community planting events, fighting wildfires in the dry season, giving school presentations across the island, tabling at public events, providing educational online and print materials, and more. 

WHAT YOUR ROLE LOOKS LIKE: 

  • Supporting administrative needs such as data entry and organizing files
  • Creating FSRD content for social media platforms such as Instagram
  • Supporting nursery maintenance (watering, weeding, cultivating, etc.)

QUALITIES AND SKILLS: 

  • Works well with a team
  • Goal-oriented
  • Self-directed, able to take initiative
  • Must have good organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in creating Instagram content is a plus!

Open to students interested field of forestry, agriculture, and public service.  

YOU CAN GAIN: 

  • Internship Hours for Credit (must be pre-approved by your academic program) 
  • Knowledge and experience related to data management, native tree identification and propagation, fire prevention seed collection, agroforestry, and general tree care.
