Parole Officer Intern

Roles and Responsibilities:

About Us:  

The Guam Department of Corrections (DOC) provides general management of detained individuals of Guam (e.g., pre-trial, federal and immigration detainees) and adjudicated minimum, medium, and maximum-security convicted individuals. The general management of the prisoner population of both inmates and detainees is the overall responsibility of this office.

Who We're Looking For:  

  • Students enrolled at the University of Guam with a social science background (preferred)
  • Written and verbal communication skills

  

What Your Role and Responsibilities look like:  

  • Observing Parole and Client interactions in office and home visits
  • Understanding the GDOC policy
  • Learning to use the Adult Correctional Management Information System
  • Assist with documentation, data entry, monitoring drug testing, and interviews

  

Duration and Time Commitments:  

  • August to December
  • Hours to be adjusted depending on class requirements/schedule
